If you’ve ever wondered about the history of a word you would have something in common with an etymologist.  That is a person who studies the history of words.  A great site is by Bill Casselman who features his Canadian Word of the Day.  It is an interesting read about our neighbors to the North.

If this sounds like some stuffy academic experience that you need a tweed jacket for you would be sorely mistaken.  It features interesting insights into phrases such as

  • Puck Bunny
  • Bent as a Pink Moose

I would give you the definition here, but it would deprive you of the experience of reading the site first hand.
